page 5 that"s a wrap...for class

This page was a challenge for sure, there's so much happening in this scene, but i think i was able to achieve a sense of scale and depth. whew. Well only 10 more to go, fall break is here hopefully i can finish them before spring semester starts!!

The "Uni" Print Exchange

First off, sorry for the lull in posting! Second, Here's a piece I cranked out last night for the upcoming print exchange I'm taking part in, the theme was "Uni." I'm pretty excited for the exchange, can't wait to see what the rest of the class comes up with. Now Off to print 18 of them... that won't take forever or anything.

Page 4 Done!

Page four is ready! And I just realized I hadn't given Zuddiger a sword... so the former pages will be seeing some revision. I'm excited to share this one with my class tomorrow. On to page 5!

Page 4 Teaser

Page four is cruising along! Should be done before the week is out. Also there will be a ton of my Printmaking work showing up here in the next few days, as I'll be getting it back for the first time since completion. So much to look forward to! Enjoy!

Page Three- Finished

I really enjoyed working on this piece, getting the terrain to turn in silhouette offered a particularly difficult challenge, one I may revisit as I continue working on the later pages. But, for now, here it be! 

Page Three- WIP Teaser

Back in the saddle again! Sorry for the long pause in posting! Page three of Zuddiger's Picnic is coming together at last. Should be completely finished by tomorrow or Monday, excited to share this with my illustration class.

Jeffery- Concepts Jeffery goes to Comicon 2012

This portion of Jeffery's first panel is nearly complete, This is a difficult series to work on for me. It call upon elements of exposure that make my soft spots hurt. But I think the work in whole serves a worthy discussion of how we as humans choose to live.I'm excited to be able to present the work in its entirety, but alas, it will be a few months in the making. Anyways, Blah blah blah, here's where I'm at, now onto page three of Zuddiger's Picnic.  

Super Consumer Series- Green Light- Comic Book Consumer Concept

Super consumer concept #1 is well underway. In completion it will be a vertical three quarter turn panel on duralar, reaching nearly 77".

I have been so busy making work I haven't had a moment to scan it all in. Patience it will come. In the meantime I figured I would post some digital work that is currently demanding some re-tooling. 
This has been a piece I continually revisit, I revamped it last year as a Boise Weekly Cover prospect, and am in the process of turning it into a more dynamic stand-alone piece. I will be posting it on Society 6 within the next few weeks. But, since I love you all so much, you will get a chance to see it in process before I post it there as my first official S6 composition.

Page 2! I'm in my groove and going to bed.

Closing in on the home stretch for page two! And now catching some shut eye before I start making careless mistakes and ruining things.

Pulled an all nighter for this one. Pretty Happy with the results. Now on to page two!

Zuddiger's Picnic Page 1:WIP

This is the midway point for page one of Zuddiger's Picnic, a story written by James Jacobs. about a young man who loses his spoon, and his mind. It has a fair Lovecraft influence, and so i decided to do each page in silhouette to really amp the creep feel. So Ill be posting more of this as it comes to fruition! Enjoy!

I swear I didn't Die

My appologies for the lack of postage lately everyone. Between getting sick and my birthday it made for too many good excuses to not upload the things I've been working on...right? Well really there's no good reason to skip out on something I enjoy as much as this, so with that being said, Here's more sketches! The top sketch is a blend of Jerms' "Go word" Style assignment with Bill's Life drawing, of the three I had the most fun, doing that, but the time i spend simplifying the human figure into contour is simply too crucial to set aside. Anyways, Its good to be back, sorry again if you've been checking in hoping for new content.

A Race Against Time

Here is Stage two and three of this First Print! I was all ready to close up shop when I discovered I had to use a minimum of three colors to fulfill the project criteria. I am happy with the resulting prints but I'm glad I saved some high def digital copies for further editing, I think with some tweaking the black and white image could become rather compelling. Oh well, live and learn I suppose!

Up Against the Clock

This is still a Work in Progress, I worked most of today on getting the stencil just how I wanted it. In completion it will be a two panel monotype print. I'm excited to experiment with the ink tomorrow, as I myself have never before used this printing process. I'll be posting the fruits of all my labor after I have a chance to ink this and run it through the press a few times.
